Socio-economic Expert, Gurgaon Haryana
Person shall be responsible for preparing reports on socio-economic impact of development projects by conducting socio-economic surveys of the affected people.
Responsibilities and Duties
As a Socio-economic expert, the person needs to study the impact of development projects on socio-economic profile of the area which involves undertaking on site socio-economic surveys of the people affected by the proposed projects and to prepare the prevailing socio-economic conditions in the area like demographic profile, income pattern, amenities, infrastructure, etc. Based upon that prepare mitigation plans as per the legislative requirement of the Government of India i.e. The Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013.
Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications
Minimum required qualification for the same is Master’s Degree in Social Welfare/ Sociology/ Political Science/ Psychology/ Geography/Anthropology/Economics/Environmental Economics/Urban Planning/Regional Planning/Environmental Planning, Developmental Sciences
Rural Development and Management – rural economics/ Economic Sociology/
MBA (Rural Management)
2 years Post Graduate Diploma in Sociology from recognized institution
With experience of Conducting baseline socio-economic surveys through interviews/ questionnaire/focused group discussions/participatory rural appraisal (PRA)/rapid rural appraisal(RRA), Conduct Rehabilitation and Resettlement (R & R ) studies for people displaced due todevelopmental projects and development for R & R plan
At least 3 years of work experience
Desirable expectation from the candidate:
• Adequate knowledge of EIA legislation process in India.
• Contribution to EIA documentation.
• Understanding of policies, guidelines and the legislation related to R & R issues
Preference will be given to person accredited as FAE in SE from NABET (QCI)
